Christmas Eve Cookies Recipe

Get into the festive spirit with our Christmas Eve Cookies. These delightful treats are a perfect blend of warm spices, sweet dough, and holiday cheer.





  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt flakes
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup caster sugar
  • 1 cup dark chocolate buttons
  • 70g dried or fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 3/4 cup pistachio nuts
  • 350g butter, melted
  • 1 egg, lightly whisked


1. In a bowl, sift together the flour, bicarbonate of soda, and salt.

2. Add the brown sugar, caster sugar, dark chocolate buttons, blueberries, cranberries, and pistachios to the bowl. Stir in the melted butter and lightly whisked egg until well combined.

3. Measure out a tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into balls. Place the balls 5cm apart on lined baking trays. Flatten each ball until it is about 1.5cm thick.

4. Bake at 180°C for 13 minutes or until golden. Cool on the trays for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy.
